Dance of Night and Dawn

(English translation at the bottom, don't worry XD)

Cette légende arthropodienne commence il y a de cela fort longtemps, avant la création de l’univers, avant le commencement de tout, lorsque surgit tout droit du néant Origo (l’Origine). Du dit néant, Origo engendra l’univers. Le deuxième jour, il érigea le Panthéon Cosmique, la demeure des dieux. Il façonna ces derniers le jour d’apres ! Et c’est tout naturellement et sans contestation qu’ils le déclarèrent « Roi du Cosmos ». Afin de mieux distribuer les tâches divines à chacun et voulant s’assurer de l’étendue de son royaume le « Régisseur Universel » chargea Nyx (la Nuit) de repertorier les planètes et étoiles des proches galaxies ! Nyx était en effet reconnu comme le plus savant et le plus rigoureux parmi toutes les divinités du Panthéon ! Ce n’est d’ailleurs pas un hasard si l’on dit que « la nuit porte conseil ». S’acquittant de sa tâche avec joie mais ne disposant pas de carte suffisamment grande, il commença à graver chaque astre sur ses grandes ailes qu’il pouvait allonger à volonté. Ces ailes s’illuminaient, à chaque instant, de nouvelles constellations ! C’est cette même carte étoilée qui, aujourd’hui encore, aide les navigateurs à se reperer lorsqu’ils contemplent le ciel.

Lorsque Nyx arriva aux confins du premier amas galactique, plus sombres, Origo envoya sa fille Alba (l’Aube) afin qu’elle puisse éclairer son chemin dans ces contrées stellaires. Travaillant main dans la main, ils finirent au bout d’un temps par tomber amoureux l’un de l’autre. Etant envoyés dans des lieux sombres et reculés du Saint Royaume et de ce fait, échappant à la surveillance d’Origo, ils s’ébattaient ensemble à tel point qu’ils commencèrent à négliger leur mission ! Origo finit par le découvrir et entra dans une rage folle ! On prétend que ses puissants grondements ébranlèrent tous les astres du cosmos et qu’aujourd’hui encore les plus vieilles étoiles rougissent des abominables jurons qu’il poussa à ce jour là ! Il précipita Nyx aux confins de l’univers et le condamna au supplice éternel de Nebulosus (la Nébuleuse), berceau de toutes les galaxies. Ce point d’où Origo éleva les premières fondations de l’univers était en perpétuel éloignement et, finissant peu à peu par tomber dans l’oubli, servait désormais de lieu d’exil. Ceux qui y finissaient étaient alors contraints de créer les nouvelles étoiles du cosmos sans jamais s’arrêter. Nyx devait, quant à lui, continuer de compter ces dernières. L’univers s’étendant à l’infini, il savait que cette tâche ne s’achèverait jamais et surtout qu’elle l’éloignerait éternellement de sa bien-aimée!

Alba quant à elle fut inconsolable et cessa alors de rayonner ! Prostrée, elle cessa également d’agiter ses ailes ! Le souffle dynamique projeté par celles-ci ne parvenant plus aux dieux, la démotivation et la deprime commencèrent à les gagner ! Face à la morosité du climat et, ne pouvant supporter les larmes de sa fille aimée, Origo n’eut d’autre choix que de faire revenir Nyx au Panthéon. Mais ayant perdu sa confiance, le Roi chargea ce dernier d’une tâche moins sévère, mais qui lui permettrait de mieux le surveiller! Origo lui ordonna ainsi de veiller sur les premiers mortels qu’il avait l’intention de créer sur la planète Arthropodia. Non sans mal, Alba supplia son père d’accompagner Nyx dans son labeur, ce qu’il finit par accepter ! Dès lors les deux amants dansent de joie autour de cette terre, plongeant tantôt celle-ci dans la douceur de la nuit étoilée et la réveillant ensuite dans le dynamisme de la petite brise matinale !

Nyx et Alba finirent par engendrer deux filles : Cyana « la bleue » et Leucelia
« la blanche », les deux lunes d’Arthropodia ! Chacune bénéficie de l’instruction et de la protection d’un de ses parents ! C’est pourquoi Leucelia sous la protection de Nyx, n’est visible que la nuit ! Sa sœur, sous la protection de sa mère, n’est visible quant à elle, que dans la matinée (et en début d’après-midi sous certaines latitudes).

This arthropodian legend begins before the creation of the universe when Origo ( the Origin) appears from the nothingness. Of this last one, Origo created the universe. The second day, he built the Cosmic Palace, the house of gods. He shaped these last ones the next day! And it is without contesting that they declared him « King of the Cosmos ». To distribute better the divine tasks to each and wanting to make sure the extent of his realm the « Universal Emperor » asked Nyx (the Night) to list planets and stars of the nearby galaxies! Nyx, recognized as the most learned among the divine community ( We say moreover that « the night takes advices » ) carried out this task with enjoyment! Having no big enough map, he began to engrave every stars on his big wings which he could stretch out as he wanted (It is the same map which we can contemplate at night by looking at the sky and which helps the sailors to find their position XD). These wings were illuminated, all the time, with new constellations!

When Nyx arrived to confines of the first galactic heap, darker, Origo sent her daughter Alba (the Dawn) so that she can light his road in these stellar parts of the cosmos. Working together, they finally fell in love one of the other one. Being sent to dark places and remote from the Holy Kingdom and furthermore, escaping the vigilance of Origo, they began to neglect their mission! Origo finally discovered it and entered a crazy fury (We claim that still today the oldest stars blush with abominable swearwords that he uttered this day XD)! He precipitated Nyx in the borders of the universe and condemned him for the eternal torture of Nebulosus (the Nebula), the cradle of all the galaxies. This point where Origo set up the first foundations of the universe was in continual remoteness and, falling into oblivion little by little, was henceforth an exile place. Those who finished here were then forced to create the new stars of the cosmos without ever stopping. Nyx had to, as for him, continue to count these last ones. The universe infinitely extending, he knew that this task would never finish and especially that it would take away him eternally from his beloved!

Alba was heartbroken! She stopped then shining and stopped shaking her wings! The dynamic breath thrown by these not reaching any more the gods, the depression began to gain them! Face to this gloomy atmosphere and, not being able to console his beloved daughter, Origo had no other choice than to bring Nyx back. But having lost his confidence, the King charged this last one of a less severe task, which would allow him to watch Nyx better! Origo thus ordered him to protect the first mortal that it intended to create on the planet Arthropodia. Alba begged her father to help Nyx in his work, what he finally accepted! From then on both lovers dance of enjoyment around this Earth, plunging this one into the sweetness of the starry night and waking it then in the dynamism of the small morning breeze!

Nyx and Alba finally engendered two girls: Cyana « the blue » and Leucelia « the white », both Arthropodia's moons! Each benefits from the protection of one of her parents! That’s why Leucelia under Nyx’s protection, is visible only at night! Her sister, under her mother’s protection, is visible as for her, that in the morning (and early in the afternoon under some latitudes).
